Justo Villar  debuted with the adult team on March 3, 1999, against Guatemala in Guatemala City (Paraguayan victory 3-2).  In the 2006 World Cup he participated in a match, playing the first 7 minutes, getting injured against the English team and being replaced.In the following World Cup held four years later in South Africa, he became the Paraguayan goalkeeper who managed to keep his clean sheet for the longest time in a World Cup, reaching 411 minutes without conceding a goal.
