PROVENANCE: Amazing direct provenance from former chilean & southamerican defender Leonel Herrera Rojas. Plaque comes from the personal collection and was given as a gift for chilean federation to each team member for the 2nd anniversary of the match in 1975.

NOTE 1: A unique treasure from one of the most tense matches in its history: the playoff clash for the 1974 World Cup in Germany between Chile and the Soviet Union.

All in an extremely complicated context on a political level, considering that the national team was part of the first flight that left the country after the military coup of September 11.

With all these difficulties, and in a match that had no official television broadcast or special press representatives of the time, Chile rescued a goalless draw against the Soviet Union that, in the end, would mean their qualification for the World Cup. after 8 years.
