PROVENANCE: Eder Lezcano, son of Juan Lezcano, former player for Olimpia and Peñarol in the 1950s and 1960s, declares that this short-sleeved Universidad Católica jersey, with a red leather back, was given to his father by defender Sergio Valdés after several years of playing in international competitions. That jersey has remained in your house ever since, and his father proudly told me and your family what a great player Valdés had been.

NOTE 1: CABALLERO CRUZADO.  Valdés debuted in 1954 with Magallanes, a club where he played until 1959. Between 1960 and 1965, he played for Universidad Católica, as part of the 1961 championship team, accompanied by a star-studded squad, and he himself was in charge of defense. With the national team, he earned international caps for the Chilean national football team between 1957 and 1961, playing 21 matches in total, nine official matches and twelve friendlies. He played in the 1957 South American Championships (Peru) and 1959 (Argentina). He was also part of the national team that played in the 1962 World Cup in Chile.

NOTE 2: ONE IN A KIND. Amazing and exclusive jersey very sought after by collector from 60's. Great provenance for a jersey first time up for auction for Universidad Católica collectors.
