" I met Diego for first time in the late 80's, and we had good relationship since this time , once when i was in my preparation for the Youth World Cup in 1987  it occurred to me to fulfill my child's dream, to get a Diego match worn jersey.  Lucky me that I had a friend  in common with Diego playing for youth series in  Boca Juniors , so asked him waiting for the miracle. Well ..you already know the story, the shirt came to me and it really was one of my most precious treasures until today. Then 19 years later I met Diego in 2006 again in Chile for a charity game, and during a night dinner  I brought him the shirt he had given me. I was surprised that he remembered the whole story. I asked him to sign it and dedicate it to my nephew. It was like going back in time. wonderful moment."

For national team Diego played 6 games and scoring 4 goals during that year, but also 1987 is considered one of the best years in Diego career with Napoli, when he got finally  reach the Scudetto for first time ever for the club beating the north giant teams , and also reaching its second Italy Cup  in 41 games and scoring 17 goals in full season.
