“The story of this jersey is amazing and tells a beautiful history. I was so close to don’t play that game  because Chilean national team asked me to be in chile by May 11th at 10:00 for World Cup pre season games in 1998. It was a difficult moment between club and national team officers , even the club chief told me “I am the one that pay your salary so you have to  play the final for us”.  We had 23 years without being champion .We already had beaten atlante , America and the final was with Necaxa  . It was a very tense moment to me . Finally I played the final game doing a great performance but I couldn’t even celebrate after the match with my teammates as the chief had a big surprise  to me . A rented private flight to take me to chile on time as  national teams requested .  So after 23 years we were champions and since that time Toluca became one of the greatest of Mexico.”
